Pleated button down skirt (altered)

I do not know what this skirt originally looked like but it is quite clear to me that it’s been hemmed. It’s neatly stitched but has the wide sweep of a longer skirt. Fabric is lovely and still in good shape - could possible be further altered by someone crafty to reduce the sweep!
