Rayon Skirt Set

I found this INCREDIBLE skirt set at the thrift the other day and had to bring it home. It does fit, but it’s a touch too small and I thought folks on here might be more interested in it than I am! I’d love to trade this for an ISO or save match, as I do plan to try styling it to see if I’ll get wear out if it. I may change my mind though, so feel free to try me! The shirt has shoulder pads but also a slight drop shoulder, so they’re not very noticeable. It’s an interesting style. The sleeves are 20” long from the underarm. I have to roll them up to wear this comfortably. It also has a very narrow shape—the flat waist in the measurements is for the skirt. The shirt’s flat waist is 18”, too narrow for me to button over my hips. It’s full length, from shoulder to side hem, is 25”. It has a slight curved hem at front and back. It can be buttoned all the way up to the collar, but was clearly designed to be worn with the top button open. The fabric is very soft, smooth, and has excellent drape. It’s lightweight and cooling, as vintage rayon usually is. The skirt is very neat, with an asymmetric button placket and large buttons. It has an A-line shape with no pockets, and is reminiscent of Victorian walking skirt styles, albeit in a very different fabric. This is what makes me guess that this set is from the 80s—the Victorian influence, and the shoulder pads. It has a blind hem at the bottom, and elastic waist back, and unfortunately no pockets. The elastic allows the waist to stretch to 17” flat, so the limiting measurement here is the hip width. I just fit that measurement at a 40” hip. Like the shirt, the skirt is smooth, cooling, and has incredible movement. The colors of both pieces are slightly less vibrant than pictured—the outfit photos are the most accurate. I love these pieces and I’d like to trade them together. It feels wrong to separate them after so long together!
