Made this by following The Closet Historian's 1920s 1 hour dress tutorial which is based on a historical reconstruction. Wore it for our 2020 New Year's Eve party. I used an old bedsheet as it was originally just supposed to be a mock-up but it turned out so pretty I didn't even bother with another. The high hip (roughly where the hip bone starts) has an inverted box pleat on each side of the body. The neckline and sleeves are finished with bias tape and a decorative stitch. The shoulders are attached with handsewn faux pearl beads. The fabric is fairly lightweight. Seams have been finished with a serger. There are stains and discoloration throughout (which aren't incredibly obvious) so this would be more suited for at home lounge wear or dress up clothes. If you're looking for a fairly accurate 1920s silhouette, this is it!
