This shirt is truly something else, to the extent that someone read too much Murakami and wrote an entire essay about it (see photos). It’s vintage 1993 skatewear/apex ultra nerd-wear, straight from my ex’s storage. The collar is ripped, and it’s got art school stains all over it (see pics), but it is cool as hell. Single stitching, natch.

“Everyone’s talking about Indie Sleaze these days, so I wanted to dig up an example of what a bonafide Williamsburg/Bushwick resident was actually wearing back in the early 00s. How do I know this came from an authentic indie sleazer? Because I married him, and he wore it to many a Bushwick loft party and even to Kokie’s Place circa 2000-2002. This was a hot commodity at Beacon’s Closet, and you could probably even find one in the Cobrasnake archives, worn by someone sporting only underpants on their bottom half.”
