Oak + Fork Jeans Mended
Me Made·Made by hand, by a humanDon’t want to buy it? This piece is open for trade too — swapping happens in the app.
I teach sashiko style mending workshops and just love mending specifically on denim. I also host clothing swaps and these Oak + Fort, medium-wash, straight leg jeans were leftover. They were a bit worse for wear and had one significant rip, some smaller rips, and the crotch needed reinforcing. These don’t fit me so I would like them yo go to a home where someone will wear & enjoy them. These should be good to be worn for years, but I’m including a sashiko needle and information about the thread I used in case you want to add anything or if/when they need mending in the future. Visible mending is so beautiful for me, because it’s the perfect marriage of art & function and I really enjoyed working on these and keeping them out of the landfill. Denim, for the patching, was sourced from from textile recycling non-profit Fab Scrap and from my own stash since I work on lots of denim. Mending was done in the following colors: white, navy, light blue, bright pink, and a bright mint green. There is a rip in the right front mini pocket that I couldn’t mend but it doesn’t take away from the function of the garment, you can see this in picture 4
