Happi coat

This is soooo cool but I haven’t found that the shape works on me well enough to wear it often. I did take out the sides where it was stitched by the previous owner bc I wanted to try it more boxy. I left the shoulders taken on because it looks so good. But those could easily be taken out too for full drapey/boxy shape. ———- Vintage Japanese festival jacket to which I added a large patch on the back. I also took in the sides a bit for shaping, but this can be undone for a looser fit. Would fit a range of sizes up to large. I’m a little hesitant to let this one go, but I never reach for it. I’m not sure I like the fit on me. I used HeatBond to attach the patch in the back which made that area kind of stiff compared to the rest of the fabric, which affected the draping. I wish the patch had been smaller or that I had cut it down a bit.
