Stormy Weather Love Letter Cardigan

I LOVED making this cardigan so much; but have only worn it (very briefly) once; so it's essentially brand new. I just don't reach for blue very often anymore, even this gorgeous denim blue that I thought would be a staple in my wardrobe at the time. I went for a very eclectic, quirky, me vibe; but still found it too femme to want to wear. 😓 Cardigan is a size 4, 42" chest, intended for a 40-42" chest or your preferred ease for a style like this. Photos of me in a dress show me with -1" of ease; and photos with the gray sweatshirt are with -3" of ease. For reference: Yarn was about $190, and it took me a month to make. The Wildflower yarn features strips of cotton tied together, so there are intentional exposed knots (which I love, but it's not got everyone so I don't want you to be surprised/ think it's unfinished). Design description from Ravelry (designed by Laurel Gervitz): Spring is in the air and it is the perfect time for the Love Letter Cardi! This lovely style is knit top down with stunning design features such as set-in sleeves, a cropped body, lacy ruffled collar, and pleated sleeves with a finished picot edge. Wildflower mini skeins are used to finish the edges of the lace collar, as well as striped throughout the sleeves to keep them lightweight and cool. The entire body is worked seamlessly except for the lace collar and sleeve pleats. This flattering cardi is perfect for styling with a sundress or all the warmer weather clothes! Maker notes from Ravelry: I used US17 (12.75mm) needles for this cardi, and the Wildflower mini skein kit in Sweet Dreams [Stormy Weather Spun Cloud for margin color]. I opted to create color blocked stripes on the sleeves for a fun twist that would go nicely with my collar and sleeve edging, which are patches of various Wildflower yarns. To keep things random, I put all my Wildflower yarns in a bag and pulled one out each time I was ready to change colors; once all were removed, I put them back in and started again. For the sleeves, I would do this for the first round of color, and then rejoin the matching color the next row so they matched. Also worth mentioning, I worked the collar; then both sleeves excluding picot BO; then both picot BOs, as at this point it didn’t matter if I ran out of a color. https://www.ravelry.com/projects/youngheartcollect/love-letter-cardi
