I purchased this purse secondhand, but it was handmade in Brazil (see photo of tag). It's made out of what looks like rolled up sheets of newspaper, tied together with strong/yarn, and is finished with a protective coating. It feels stiff and the construction is very solid. There are a few spots on the strap where the paper rolls have started to come untied on one side, it does not affect the useability of the purse and can most likely be easily fixed. I love the uniqueness of this purse, but it mostly sits in my closet and I'd love for it to get used!
