1960s Men’s Cable Knit Cardigan Sweater

Woodward & Lothrop by Alan Paine vintage brand Size 40 Light Blue Shetland All Wool Cardigan Sweater RARE vintage cable knit 1960s button front v-neck cardigan sweater. Made in England. Two functional front pockets. Wood buttons. Ribbed cuffs and hem. In impeccable vintage condition! Classic, warm natural fiber for the winter from defunct department store Woodward & Lothrop, founded in 1887 in Washington, DC. Alan Paine, the maker of this sweater, was founded in 1907 and still exists in the UK as a luxury knitwear and country wear brand. A new Alan Paine sweater (no pockets, no cable knit) will set you back $240 so I am looking to trade for one of my holy grail items. 40 is an EU size that I think equates most closely to a men’s S. I am an XS women’s (more like a 36 or 38) and this is big on me, especially on the arm length. Chest: 18.5” flat (some stretch due to knit) Total length: 27”
