Fair warning - this one will have to find just the right trade, so forgive me if I seem picky. I LOVE this skirt, and am struggling to trade it, but after moving to Florida, I just have to come to terms with the fact that it’s not well suited to our climate, and it’s better off worn than wasting away in my closet. This is a Coquelicot Skirt by Wildflower Designs, which if you haven’t seen it before, is a super unique design. It’s got a (half) circle silhouette reminiscent of the 50s or 60s, but has an apron front, lace up waist, and gloriously deep pockets inspired by 18th century garments. So it makes a really neat Historybounding piece! I made this one in a beautiful lofty gray wool I thrifted, which makes it delightfully warm. This and a pair of wool tights is adequate in even freezing weather. The inner waistband is made using some sort of wool blend, again, that I thrifted. The best part of the waistband design is that it can adjust to fit quite a wide range of size changes, so it’s wonderful for those whose waist fluctuates a lot over time. The lace up waist also supports the huge pockets amazingly, even loaded up, without weighing the skirt down or making it dig. I liked that the lace up waist distributes the weight of the skirt nicely too. I’m not a skirt person and I love this skirt, so that should likely say something. I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for in trade so try me, but again, I may be picky. I’ve only gotten to wear this 2 or 3 times. Beautiful condition, no issues whatsoever.
“I made this to wear to sing in my grandfather’s memorial, so it carries extra sentimental value too. This fabric waited in my stash for a long time for the right project - and this is exactly what it wanted to be. 💕 Also a little sad, because I adored the pink check fabric I used inside, but the first project I did with it was a total failure, and this was all I had left.”
