Lace up boots

I recently got these boots here on LS and they are super cute but unfortunately I’ve only worn them once and they are definitely not my size. Too big! 😢 They do not have a size tag that can be clearly read. They are soft and supple caramel leather that remind me of Christy Dawn ankle boots. Would look so good styled in a western prairie dress vibe! They are well loved and perfectly broken in. Looks like one of the previous owners recently had them re-soled. The person who mailed these to me thought they were an 8.5. I do not think so. I am inclined to think they are more of a 9. I did reading and research on how to measure shoes with no size tag and I measured the insole from toe to heel inside the boot and they measured 10 inches. I then went on the Frye website and found a women’s size chart and that corresponds to a women’s 9. I have a short and wide foot that can be a 7.5/8 normally. Although I have purchased other Frye ankle boots that were narrow in size 8.5 and added an insole. Unfortunately these boots feel much too large. I also fully searched inside the shoe looking for sizing and did find some markings but they are very faint and difficult to read. It kind of looks like a 9 to me but 🤷‍♀️…… I’m including that photo also. The last 8 photos are from previous owners PREVIOUS OWNER: Amazing boots but have not worn. Sole is pristine. these were resoled and reconditioned by last owner but i just have too many boots and did not wear these. PREVIOUS OWNER: Okay here’s the deal gals! These are well worn, however I think if you are up for resoling, polishing and getting new laces, you’d have a lovely pair of leather boots. They are several years old, and don’t fit me, so I’m not up for restoring them. I would rather see if anyone here wants to take up the project, rather than donating them to have them potentially thrown away.
