Molly Dvora Rosenblum is a creative strategist, writer, musician, and lover of soup. Her Milwaukee home is a rainbow sherbet fantasy, filled with plants and half-finished projects. She finds the trade economy to be a balm amidst the horrors of late-stage capitalism.
Recovering maximalist, babaà-curious, power-clashing enthusiast. Some days I want to be draped in earthy linen gathering medicinal berries in the forest while wearing clogs, other days I want the fierceness of my outfit to cut like a knife. Maybe this is why I can never decide what to have for lunch.
Big Bud Press, Nooworks, Samantha Pleet, Osei-Duro, Dusen Dusen, Ace & Jig, and Fashion Brand Company are all catnip to my forever maximalist heart. I saw a meme the other day referring to Fashion Brand Company as Big Bud Press for evil people and I can’t stop thinking about it.
I have always loved collecting and wearing vintage, so at a certain point it just made sense to start selling it. My other option was to become a full-on hoarder, which I strive to avoid.
My shop is called Fun House Vintage, I recently rebranded and I hope to get it back up and running again soon — Etsy is such a wasteland now I’m hesitant to use that platform for selling. I might just sell through Instagram, so if you’re interested my handle is @funhousevtg.
My style used to index more femme, so I have a collection of gOgGeouS 1950s and 60s dresses that I need to release back into the wild. Now I tend to gravitate towards 80s and 90s for vintage — I love bold geometric prints and color. I also collect classic vintage linen pieces, and as a Y2K survivor I embrace the lug-sole with my whole heart. One of my favorite vintage finds in constant rotation are these 90s Daisy Doc Martens, I added the bright yellow laces.
I have always been obsessed with the trading economy and fashion. Put them together and it’s irresistible. I also love the community on Lucky Sweater, seeing everyone’s personal style and having the chance to post a picture of your outfit even if you’re just running errands feels so pure. In our era of late-stage capitalism, LS feels like a life-line!
Omg so many good ones. I just traded for a pair of Nooworks overalls in Static that I LOVE. I discovered Black Crane through my first LS trade that I wear constantly, and I recently ended up trading an Arq leotard back to its original owner which was funny and perfect.
I worked for five years as Director of Brand Strategy and Copywriting at Zero Studios in NYC and left to go full-time freelance at the end of 2021. At Zero I helped launch D2C darlings Poppi, Goodles, Not Pot, and Buffy, among many others. Since then I've had the pleasure of working on some amazing projects including MindUP, a mental fitness program for young learners founded by the legend Goldie Hawn. Yes I was on video calls with her throughout the project and yes my life felt momentarily complete when she called me honey.
The freelance ~journey~ has been wild, but I’m incredibly grateful and proud of the work I’ve done and for the opportunities that have come my way. After being my own boss for 2+ years I fear I am no longer tameable. Step into my office at modvro.com if you’d like to talk shop.
I have traded two BBP Lazy Daisy pieces in other colorways (work pants in blue and a short-sleeved jumpsuit in mustard), but I just can’t quit it. Maybe this will be the one that sticks…
I’ve been obsessed with this sweater for years. Tbh would look fab with the BBP black and white daisy pants!
Hot, hot, hot!!! I love neon green, and the structured fit of this top would be very fun to style.
A cool girl basic I would treasure. Chic and ready to go.
The vibrancy of this dress is making my heart quiver. Plus it has passed through two sweet-as-can-be members (hi @lollilfits and @sarahducas! ) who I’ve had the distinct pleasure of trading with.
I’ve been pestering the lovely Husnaa about these pants for a hot minute. I have this style in Osei-Duro’s Tee-Hee textile and LOVE wearing them. I know she’s also open to selling them, I’ve just been trying to hold out!
I love this dress! Wear as a duster or buttoned up, the color palette is divine.
Gorgeous psychedelic silk. What more is there to say?
For the love of all that is holy, somebody please SAVE THIS 90’s CULTURAL RELIC!!! Kasia is even offering it as a gift, just pay shipping! La la la la la….
Perfect for your first day as a ceramics instructor or when you decide to permanently recede into the tree line.
I’m hesitant to share this one because I want to try and trade for it lol. Looks like an easy summer staple, and just imagine the dyeing possibilities — gah!
Thank you so much, Molly, for your groovy picks and sharing more about your not so sick, sad world!
Come for the clothes, stay for the community. Never have to buy again.
